A LITTLE OF HISTORY
- The castle of Fougerolle.
- The former ancient manor house of Châtelaison of XVth century.
- The castle of Mines, dating 1850, is not open to public. It's built on the former domain of the Management of Mines. The main industrial activity from the XVIIIth end till the middle of the XIXth century was the extraction of coal under the surrounding hillsides.
- The mill cavier of the Ségline of XVIIIth century.
- The former prieuré of Saint-Georges of XVth century.
TODAY
The municipality, situated in the valley of the Layon, produces wines A.O.C Wines of Anjou and Coteaux-du-Layon. It also makes products of the soil such as some foie gras, some goat's milk cheese and the biologic truck farming.
The pedestrian path of "Terre Noires ", organized with the municipality of Concourson-sur-Layon, allows to follow the river and to find the tracks of the mining activity of the XIXth century.
